Almost famous ;)

I had an ABSOLUTE ball doing this. Elle from House and Garden is an absolute sweetheart, and Maree Homer is not only one of the best photographers I've ever met, she's one of the nicest women too! All in all, a great days work. Some days it's beautiful to be creative.  x

More from me...x

GUESS WHAT!!!! The ArtCards are FINALLY here! I'm sure by now, you might have realised we're pretty passionate about Art! Furthermore, we have great respect and support for the Artists we work with, around and near. ArtCards are a great way for us (myself and the Artists I work with) to not only get some exposure, but share our Art with you and yours. The first 10 are some of my own favourites, but I'm planning on another run really soon of my favourite works of the Red Olive Artists. I'd hazard a guess that EVERYONE loves Art, on some level - whether they even realise it or not. ArtCards are a super affordable way to bring different Art by heaps of different Artists into your home! Use them as unique gift cards for any occasion - they're blank inside, so you can use them for anything at all. They also look fabulous in a frame - they're Art after all! We're selling them individually for only $5.00, or in packs of 5 for only $20.00 for a limited time only. (you choose ANY 5 of your favourites).

ArtCards will also be available for wholesale, so if you want to see them in your retail space, please give us a call or email me . I'm attaching the sample PDF so you can have a good close look. We're doing all the work ourselves (late nights packing envelopes let me tip you!), and staying independent, there's no agents or big guys involved - all the money goes into supporting the Arts and keeping this train running. So if you have somewhere you think they should be, we'd love to hear from you, if you're a retailer on my mailing list - I already love your work!

Another thing which has been in the works for awhile is....drum roll please.... NEW STUDIO / GALLERY SPACE!!!
I've found a great little spot in Sydney Road, Balgowlah which I'm turning into Studio and Gallery space for local Artists. I'm really excited about this, it's been a long process, but I'm really thrilled about all of it - including the Artists so far that I'll get to do what I love surrounded by. There' s a few spots left if you're a creative in the area looking for some affordable/fun/safe and cool space to be creative. It's an Underground space, which I kind of like, with an incredible backyard which I already see myself out there with easels on sunny days... You might be a painter/graphic designer/craftsperson of any sort really, I'd love to hear from you. Even if you're not looking for Studio space, you might be wanting to run workshops/seminars/lectures/hold Art classes - all of which I'm really open to having a chat about. I'm personally wanting someone to do some hebel sculpting lessons - that's something I've wanted to do for a long time...Watch this space! The studios will be available from approximately mid April, and the Gallery I'm planning on having up and running by June at the latest... Each of the Artists involved will have their own little area on the almost here new Red Olive website too, along with being displayed in the gallery, and in the online shopping area of the new Website...

The website is well underway - it's taken a LOT longer than I meant it to, but it's happening I promise, and will have EVERYTHING available for online shopping. That way, my wonderful inter-staters get to check out the mad and random finds at the Red Olive retail space! I am sincerely doing everything I can do bring this to you as soon as!

Oh, and don't worry - I'm keeping the shop. My great little spot on Wanganella Street remains, it just gets to be a shop instead of a shop/design office/Artspace. I'm also excited about being there and not tripping over easels and canvases. Imagine how much more room I'll have to find lovely wares for you soon!!!

Also, it's getting closer to my big solo show at the ArtHouse Hotel. I'm on the website - so there's no going back now! I'll be sending official invitations soon, but letting you know, so you can pencil me in. I'd love to see you there. I'll be up and running on Monday 31st May, but will be having a 'drinks with Artist' of some sort the following Monday, which is the 7th June.
Check out the website. I love the Arthouse Hotel - and am really looking forward to this. http://www.thearthousehotel.com.au/#/Whats_On/Exhibition

I also decided this week that I want to do something else to make this exhibition a positive one, and started looking for a charity to donate a percentage of all sales to from the show. Given the nature and intention of 'The Layers of HER' I was looking for one that in some way helped empower women. One of my fabulous customers and Red Olive Facebook fans suggested an organization that works with women with disabilities and helps to provide support in all aspects of their lives.
Watch this space - I hope to hear from them soon!

Also, if you're not already - join me on Facebook. I'm becoming quite internet...well not quite savvy - more aware. Check me out. Maybe one day i'll even learn how to do a cool newsletter and use photoshop ;) This from the girl who still finger paints on a daily basis and thought computers were 'just a fad' in high school...

I honestly really did intend for this to be a short little note, but I'm a long talker - and I've missed you! :)

Hope your lives are filled with all things beautiful

Busy Busy Bee...

Hello again, I have more news quite quickly. Firstly, the ArtCards are almost ready for sale. Here's the blurb from the up and coming new Red Olive Website...

"I'm REALLY excited to bring you our latest idea - 'ArtCards' by Red Olive Studios.

Having spent some time perusing this website, you might have realised by now we're pretty passionate about Art! Furthermore we have great respect and support for the Artists we work with, around and near. ArtCards are a great way for us (myself and the Artists I work with) to not only get some exposure, but share our Art with you and your loved ones.

We're selling them individually, or in packs of 10 (you choose 10 of your favourites).

ArtCards will also be available for wholesale, so if you want to see them in your retail space, please give us a call or email me for the entire list. We're doing all the work ourselves, and staying independent, (no agents or big guys involved - all the money goes into supporting the Arts and keeping this train running) so if you have somewhere you think they should be, we'd love to hear from you, and discuss some incentives for you taking the time to give us the referal. Win win for all of us."

They are only $5.00 each - and it won't be long before I add to the current collection...

And on another front, I'm on the ArtHouse Hotel website promoting my up and coming solo Show - 'The Layers of HER.' Check it out. I'll be exhibiting throughout June, and would love to see you there. Will keep you posted on updates. I'm a long bloggers aren't I? Not surprising - I'm a long talker too...Lol. x

WELCOME!!! I decided this morning that it's finally time to join the land of blogging. I love a good dialogue, and love hearing your opinions/views of things. Plus I love to share the incredible things I come across and learn working in the amazing creative industry that I do. There's heaps going on with Red Olive Studios this year, we're opening a new creative space which is super exciting - we're going 'underground.' Will tell you more soon... Also, the release of our new 'ArtCards' is imminent. They're a fantastic way of bringing you affordable ART, and providing exposure to our amazing local Artists. Bear with me, I'm still finding my feet - but I very much looking forward to 'blogging' in your fabulous company. x
